I work primarily in oil, typically on either a) paper b) cardboard c) some other type of board that I most likely found propped up against a parking meter on the sidewalk outside my building. I like hard, flat, non-absorbent surfaces.
I took my first painting course at Columbia University in Spring 2004, during the first few weeks of which I spent most of my time fuming and drop-kicking my constantly dripping pile of Turpenoid soup excuses for oil paintings IN THE FACE. So I'm still pretty fresh and daisy-like when it comes to slappin' the ole paintin' sticks... but not too much of a novice to use sweet made-up painterly jargon like a pro! ...I've gotten better though. My paintings stay on the surfaces I apply them too, anyway.
